Eight IFTTT Channel is here
Today we are launching our IFTTT channel. A new app version is available for download.
Download on iOS and Android so you can connect to IFTTT, access our channel and get started with Integrations.
What is IFTTT?
IFTTT is a platform that allows you to connect products and services that you love, to make it easier and more fun to do things.
To setup an integration between two services (apps or devices you use every day), you must use applets. Applets bring your services together to create new experiences. For example: automatically turn on your bedroom lights when you hit snooze on the Eight alarm. There are applets like this already available on the Eight IFTTT channel.
The possibilities of integrations are endless. To make it easier to decide, we have implemented specific events related to Eight that can be used as triggers when you set your applets. Click here to see the triggers available. Over time, we will continue to add specific event triggers, so stay tuned!
Why does this matters for my sleep?
Sleep is something we do every night. It becomes a part of our routine. Associated to our sleep and wake up, there are several activities that have become habitual. From turning lights off, locking doors, and adjusting the thermostat, to snoozing an alarm or brewing coffee in the morning.
By integrating Eight to IFTTT you can forget about doing these activities yourself, and let Eight take care of them. We hope that by doing this your sleep and wake up experiences will be more pleasant and you can focus on what’s important: getting a good night’s sleep and waking up refreshed.
Connecting to IFTTT
We have built the IFTTT connection directly in the Eight app. Just open the Eight app, go to the Features page and tap on the > and follow instructions for setup. If the instructions don’t launch automatically, tap on the card ‘How to use Integrations’, and click on ‘Connect to IFTTT’.
You must have an IFTTT account or create one to use integrations.
Recommended (and fun) integrations
Visit the Eight IFTTT channel to see our recommended applets. Give them a try and let us know your thoughts! We have applets for controlling lights, thermostats, and even slacking your colleagues.
